Possibly photographed in the vicinity of New York City on 23 January 1918, when she was inspected by the Third Naval District.
Built in 1915 by Harlan and Hollingsworth of Wilmington, Delaware, this ship was considered for World War I era U.S. Navy service, and assigned the registry ID # 2270, but was not taken over.
