Iwo Jima Operation, 1945
"Digging in on Iwo Jima Beach Head -- Marines dig in utilizing
every available shelter to escape the Jap fire, just after they
were landed from Navy and Coast Guard landing craft." Quoted

Note bulldozer and mobile crane. A load of pierced steel planking,
still strapped together, is behind the Marines sheltering in
the right center. The wrecked ship in the background is a small
Japanese steamer.
