Iwo Jima Operation, 1945
"On the Run --- While enemy machine gun bullets whip the
branches over their heads, Marines with an empty stretcher pass
a dead Jap as they run for the next bit of cover. The Jap was
killed an hour earlier as the Marines fought their way forward
against fanatical resistance on Iwo Jima." (quoted from
the original 1945 vintage photo caption).
