USS Burns
(DM-11, formerly DD-171)

Underway in Hawaiian waters, circa 1922-1924, when she was commanded by Lieutenant Commander Olaf M. Hustvedt. She is probably taking part in gunnery practice, as her four-inch guns are manned and trained out.
Burns is wearing her destroyer bow number ("171") with the Mine Force insignia.
