Guantanamo Bay, Cuba

"1st, 2nd and 3rd Regiments of the 5th Division, U.S. Marines" (from the original print's Spanish text) paraded at their Guantanamo Bay Camp, circa winter-spring 1911.
Navy officer in "Whites" in the front row of the small group toward the left is Rear Admiral Sidney A. Staunton, USN, commander of the Atlantic Fleet's Fifth Division. Three of his division's armored cruisers are among the ships seen offshore in the left half of the photo.
These ships include (from left): USS Chester (Scout Cruiser # 1); USS North Carolina (Armored Cruiser # 12), USS Petrel (Gunboat # 2); USS Tennessee (Armored Cruiser # 10), Fifth Division flagship (incorrectly labeled on the original print as USS Montana); USS Washington (Armored Cruiser # 11); USS Prairie; a collier and USS Solace.
Panoramic photograph, possibly taken by a Cuban photographer.
