(from the original print's Spanish text) paraded at their Guantanamo
Bay Camp, circa winter-spring 1911.
Navy officer in "Whites" in the front row of the small
group toward the left is Rear Admiral Sidney A. Staunton, USN,
commander of the Atlantic Fleet's Fifth Division. Three of his
division's armored cruisers are among the ships seen offshore
in the left half of the photo.
These ships include (from left): USS Chester (Scout Cruiser
# 1); USS North Carolina (Armored Cruiser # 12), USS Petrel
(Gunboat # 2); USS Tennessee (Armored Cruiser # 10), Fifth
Division flagship (incorrectly labeled on the original print
as USS Montana); USS Washington (Armored Cruiser
# 11); USS Prairie; a collier and USS Solace.
