S.S. Favorite
(American salvage tug, 1907)

Photographed in the Panama Canal in the 1920s with a group of tourists on deck. This ship was in commission as USS Favorite (ID # 1385) from February 1918 to April 1920 and then operated under loan from the Navy in the Panama Canal. Reacquired by the Navy in 1940, she was classified IX-45 in 1941 and stricken in 1948. This image is an enlargement of part of NH 105346.
