S.S. Sturgeon Bay (American freighter, 1918)

Color-tinted photograph of the ship at Green Bay, Wisconsin, probably in 1918 shortly after completion. She is painted in World War I "dazzle" camouflage. Printed on a post card published by the Green Bay Post Card Co., of Green Bay.
This wooden-hulled cargo ship was soon modified for use by the U. S. Shipping Board's Recruiting Service and then served as a Naval Reserve training ship, USS Sturgeon Bay (IX-27), from 1921 to 1928.
