USAT Logan
(U.S. Army Transport)

The ship has an empty gun platform on the bow and may have been photographed soon after the end of World War I. The ice on the water and austere port facilities suggest a northern location like Alaska. Built as the British S.S. Manitoba in 1892, she served as a U.S. Army transport from 1898 to 1922.

Donation of Captain Stephen S. Roberts, USNR (Retired), 2008.
