Photo #: 19-N-8229 USS Bainbridge (DD-246) Fitting out at the New York Shipbuilding Corporation shipyard, Camden, New Jersey, 29 October 1920. Note that the captioning on the photograph identifies the ship as "Destroyer No. 249" and that the builder's hull number painted on the bow is "238". Both of these indicate that the ship may actually be USS Hopkins (DD-249), and not Bainbridge. Also note the temporary wooden railing installed around the destroyer's deck edge.
