"Submarine Rescue Vessel (A.S.R.) - Design Study "B""
Preliminary design plan prepared for the General Board during
the process that produced the Chanticleer (ASR-7) class.
This plan, dated 17 October 1940, depicts a relatively large,
1750-ton (light displacement) 300-foot (between perpendiculars),
design that appears to be based on that of the Barnegat
(AVP-10) class small seaplane tenders.
Scale of the original drawings is 1/16" = 1'.
The original plan is in the 1939-1944 "Spring Styles Book"
held by the Naval Historical Center.
