Cherbourg, France


View of the railway ferry terminal in Cherbourg harbor, 29 July 1944, about a month after the Allies captured the city.
Note the ship scuttled alongside the terminal to block entry to some of the harbor's basins. Despite demolition efforts by the Germans, railway cars are again using the facility.
