William Coles (or John Cole), Herbert W. Leach, Tong (or Charles) Sing) and Henry Wilson were members of the 1879-1881 Jeannette Arctic expedition. They were among the thirteen men who survived the loss of their ship and the subsequent ordeal on ice and sea north of Siberia.
