Wife of Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz
Receives an ovation at a reception held in honor of her husband
at the Golden Slipper Square Club, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,
on 12 February 1946. Fleet Admiral Nimitz was presented with
the "Golden Slipper Distinguished Service Award" in
recognition of his World War II activities.

"Submarine Day" at the U.S. Naval Academy, 11 April
1947
Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, Chief of Naval Operations, is
greeted by a group of submarine officers on duty at the Naval
Academy, and by two members of the original crew of USS Holland,
the Navy's first submarine, which had been accepted for service
47 years previously.
