Landsman Patrick J. Kyle, USN, (1854-1929)

Patrick J. Kyle was born on 4 November 1854 in Ireland. He enlisted in the US Navy from Massachusetts and, while serving as a crewmember of USS Quinnebaug, saved a drowning shipmate at Port Mahon, Minorca, Spain on 13 March 1879. For his conduct on this occasion, he was awarded the Medal of Honor. Patrick J. Kyle died on 28 October 1929 at Charlestown, Massachusetts.
