    Discussing operations in the Philippines area, on board RAdm. Barbey's flagship, USS Blue Ridge (AGC-2).
    Photograph was received by the Navy Photographic Science Laboratory on 13 February 1945. It was probably taken in October 1944 (the month exposed on RAdm. Barbey's calendar), when both men commanded amphibious forces involved in the Leyte invasion.
