A.G. Prentiss (American Harbor Tug, 1912).
Served as USS A.G. Prentiss (ID # 2413) in 1918

A.G. Prentiss, a 46 gross ton wooden steam harbor tug, was built at Kennebunk, Maine, in 1912. She was chartered by the Navy in March 1918 and served as USS A.G. Prentiss (ID # 2413) for the rest of World War I, apparently in the Third Naval District. The tug was returned to her owner in early December 1918.

This page features the only view we have concerning the harbor tug A.G. Prentiss, which served as USS A.G. Prentiss (ID # 2413) in 1918.

Photographed prior to her World War I era Navy service.
Built at Kennebunk, Maine, in 1912, this small wooden-hulled tug was chartered to the Navy in March 1918, given the ID # 2413, and served until returned to her owner on 2 December 1918.
