A.G. Prentiss, a 46 gross ton wooden steam harbor tug, was built at Kennebunk, Maine, in 1912. She was chartered by the Navy in March 1918 and served as USS A.G. Prentiss (ID # 2413) for the rest of World War I, apparently in the Third Naval District. The tug was returned to her owner in early December 1918.
