Alexander H. Erickson (American Harbor Tug, 1917).
Served as USS Alexander H. Erickson (ID # 2298) in 1918-1919

Alexander H. Erickson, a 59.5 gross ton steam harbor tug, was built at New Baltimore, New York, in 1917. She was taken over by the Navy in March 1918 and subsequently served as USS Alexander H. Erickson (ID # 2298) in East Coast waters during and after World War I. The tug was returned to her owner in late August 1919.

This page features our only view of the tug Alexander H. Erickson, which served as USS Alexander H. Erickson (ID # 2298) in 1918-19.

Alexander H. Erickson
(U.S. Harbor Tug, 1917)

Photographed prior to World War I. She was acquired by the Navy on 9 March 1918 and became USS Alexander H. Erickson (ID # 2298). The tug was returned to her owner on 28 August 1919.

The original photograph is in Record Group 19-LCM in the National Archives.
