Atlida (American Barge, 1904).
Served as U.S. Navy Coal Barge 515 (ID # 1721) in 1917-1919

Atlida, a 253 gross ton barge, was built at Gildersleeve, Connecticut, in 1904. Taken over by the Navy early in November 1917, and renamed Coal Barge 515 at some point, she was returned to her owner in June 1919.

This page features the only view we have concerning the barge Atlida, which was U.S. Navy Coal Barge 515 (ID # 1721) in 1917-1919.

Atlida
(American Barge, 1904)

In port, possibly in the New York City area when she was inspected by the Third Naval District on 13 October 1917.
Assigned registry ID # 1721, this barge was reportedly taken over for U.S. Navy service on 5 November 1917. Renamed Coal Barge 515 while in Navy service, she was returned to her owner on 10 June 1919.
