Babette II (American Motor Boat, 1917).
Served as USS Babette II (SP-484) in 1917-1919

Babette II, a 52-foot motor pleasure craft, was built in 1917 at Morris Heights, New York, probably with the expectation of offering her to the Navy for patrol service. She was leased upon completion and placed in commission in July 1917 as USS Babette II (SP-484). For the rest of World War I the boat was employed in the vicinity of Hampton Roads, Virginia, performing transportation, inspection and command support duties. Decommissioned in mid-January 1919, she was immediately returned to her owner.

This page features our only view of the motor boat Babette II, which served as USS Babette II (SP-484) in 1917-1919.
