Barge # 70, a 674-ton (displacement) wooden barge, was built at Tottenville, New York, in 1918 for the Moran Towing & Transportation Company of New York City. Taken over by the Navy at about the time of her completion and assigned registry ID # 2678, she was renamed Freight Lighter # 93. The barge spent her entire Navy career in the New York area, becoming YF-93 in 1920, and was not disposed of until 1947.
