Carrie Clark (American Seagoing Barge, 1874).
Previously named Anna and Carrie M. Clark
Served as USS Carrie Clark (SP-1238) in 1917-1919

Carrie Clark (SP-1238), a 1298 gross ton seagoing barge, was built in Maine in 1874. Prior to World War I she was also named Anna and Carrie M. Clark. In October 1917 the Navy purchased her from the Luckenbach Steamship Company and, in November, placed her in commission as USS Carrie Clark (SP-1238, probably later changed to ID # 1238). During and after World War I she was employed as a coal barge by the Fifth Naval District and the Naval Overseas Transportation Service. Stricken from the Navy list in June 1919, Carrie Clark was sold in September of that year.

This page features all the views we have concerning the barge Carrie Clark, which served as USS Carrie Clark (SP-1238) in 1917-1919.
