Courtenay P (American Motor Boat, circa 1916).
Served as USS Courtenay P (SP-899) and USS SP-899 in 1917-1918

Courtenay P, a 52-foot motor boat, was built by the Gas Engine and Power Company at Morris Heights, New York, in about 1916 as a pleasure craft. In July 1917 she was ordered delivered to the Navy and late in August was placed in commission as USS Courtenay P (SP-899). Later renamed SP-899, in July 1918 she was reported as "having proven unsuitable". The craft was returned to her owner in December 1918.

This page features the only views we have related to the motor boat Courtenay P, which served as USS Courtenay P (SP-899) and USS SP-899 in 1917-1918.
