Efco (American Motor Boat, 1912).
Served in the Navy as Efco (ID # 2405) in 1918-1919

Efco, a 40-foot motor boat built in 1912 was owned by the Eastern Forwarding Company of Baltimore, Maryland, a subsidiary of the North German Lloyd Steamship Company. She was taken over by the Navy in May 1918 and placed in service as Efco (ID # 2405). For the remainder of World War I, and for several months after the fighting had ended, she was employed in Fifth Naval District waters by the Naval Overseas Transportation Service. Efco was returned to her owner in October 1919.

This page features the only view we have concerning the motor boat Efco, which served in the Navy as Efco (ID # 2405) in 1917-1919.

Efco
(American Motor Boat, 1912)

In harbor, possibly on 15 March 1918 when she was inspected by the Fifth Naval District. She was already in U.S. Navy service at that time. The small tug Somerset is between her and the wharf.
Owned by a Baltimore, Maryland, subsidiary of the North German Lloyd shipping company, this boat was USS Efco (ID # 2405) in 1918-1919.
