Eten (German Passenger Steamer, 1907).
Served as USS Eten (ID # 4041) in 1919
Eten, a 6982 gross ton passenger steamship, was built
at Hamburg, Germany, in 1907. She was acquired by the Navy from
the U.S. Shipping Board at the beginning of May 1919 and placed
in commission at that time as USS Eten (ID # 4041). Between
late May and late July 1919 she was employed as a troop
transport by the Cruiser and Transport Force, making two voyages
to bring U.S. service personnel home from Europe. Decommissioned
in mid-August 1919, Eten was then returned to the Shipping
Board.
This page features all the views we have concerning the
steamship Eten (1907) and USS Eten (ID # 4041),
which served in 1919.
