Steam Yacht Hydraulic (1900);
Later USS Hydraulic (SP-2584), 1918-1919

Hydraulic, a 30-ton steam yacht, was built in 1900 at Tottenville, New York. The Navy chartered her in May 1918 for World War I service and placed her in commission in August 1918 as USS Hydraulic. For the remainder of the year, she operated in New York harbor as a patrol and transport boat. Hydraulic was returned to her owner in January 1919.

This page features our only view of the steam yacht Hydraulic, later USS Hydraulic (SP-2584).
