Katrina (Steam Boat, 1913).
Served as USS Katrina (SP-1144) in 1917-1919

Katrina, a 66' 6" steam boat, was built by George F. Lawley & Sons at Boston, Massachusetts, in 1913 for employment as a pleasure craft. She was chartered by the Navy in May 1917 and placed in commission soon afterwards. After initial patrol service at Bar Harbor, Maine, in June 1918 she was sent to Halifax, Nova Scotia, where she spent the rest of World War I on local transportation duty. Decommissioned after the end of the conflict, Katrina was returned to her owner in February 1919.

This page features our only views of the steam boat Katrina, which served as USS Katrina (SP-1144) in 1917-1919.
