Served as USS Louise # 2 (SP-1230) in 1917-1919

Louise # 2, a schooner-rigged pilot boat built in 1900 at East Boston, Massachusetts, was leased by the Navy in September 1917 and placed in commission as USS Louise # 2 (SP-1230). She served as a Boston Harbor pilot boat during the rest of World War I, continuing her previous civilian employment under military colors. USS Louise # 2 was decommissioned in January 1919 and returned to her owner, the Boston Pilots Relief Society.
