Mist (Steam Launch, 1904).
Served as USS Mist (SP-567) in 1917-1919

Mist, an 59-foot steam launch, was built in 1904 by Herreshoff at Bristol, Rhode Island, for use as a pleasure craft. She was placed in commission as USS Mist (SP-567) in late April 1917 and formally acquired by the Navy a few weeks later. During World War I, Mist operated near Boston, Massachusetts, on guard and dispatch duties and also supported the Boston area Mine Sweeping Division. She was returned to her owner in early February 1919.

This page features our only views of the steam launch Mist, which was USS Mist (SP-567) during 1917-1919.
