Protector (American Tug, 1882)

The 92¾-foot iron-hulled tug Protector was built at Camden, New Jersey, in 1882. In February 1918 she ordered to be turned over to the Navy for World War I service, under registry number SP-1242. However no further action appears to have been taken, and she remained in the hands of her owner.

This page features our only views of the tug Protector, built in 1882.
