USS Arroyo (SP-197), 1917-1918

USS Arroyo, a 46.5-foot section patrol craft, was built in 1913 at Stamford, Connecticut, as a civilian pleasure craft. She was leased by the Navy in April 1917, soon after the U.S. entered World War I, and went into commission in June. After serving in the New York Harbor area for the rest of 1917, and being laid up for the first four months of 1918, Arroyo was sent to the Great Lakes. She performed patrol duties in the vicinity of Detroit, Michigan, from mid-1918 until November 1918, then returned to New York. USS Arroyo was decommissioned in December 1918 and returned to her owners.

This page features the only view we have related to USS Arroyo (SP-197).
