U. S. Navy Ferry Launch No. 132 (classified YFB-132 in 1920), 1891-1928. Also known as Steam Cutter No. 132 and Launch No. 132

Ferry Launch No. 132, a 64-foot wooden-hulled craft with a 100-horsepower steam engine, was built at the Portsmouth Navy Yard, Kittery, Maine, in 1891 and probably provided ferry services between the Navy Yard and the city of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, for her entire naval career. Too small to appear in published lists of vessels of the U. S. Navy until 1907, she was listed through 1911 as a ferry launch with the name Steam Cutter No. 132 and thereafter as Launch No. 132. She was classified YFB-132 when the Navy implemented its standard hull classification system in July 1920. Ferry Launch No. 132 was transferred to the Commerce Department in October 1928.

This page features the only view we have concerning U.S. Navy Ferry Launch No. 132 (YFB-132), Steam Cutter No. 132 and Launch No. 132.
