USS Idealia (SP-125), 1917-1918.
Originally the civilian motor boat Idealia (1911)

USS Idealia, a 75' 8" motor pleasure boat, was built in 1911 by the Elco Company of Bayonne, New Jersey. She was acquired by the Navy under lease in May 1917 and placed in commission at that time as USS Idealia (SP-125). For the rest of World War I she served as a harbor entrance patrol craft in the Delaware Bay area. The boat was returned to her owner in November 1918, just eleven days after the 11 November Armistice brought the fighting to an end.

This page features the only views we have concerning USS Idealia (SP-125) the motor boat Idealia of 1911.
