Note: In addition to the photographs referenced above, we have another view that is related to flight operations on USS Long Island, though it does not actually show that ship. This is Photo # 80-G-64755, which shows the wreckage of a plane that crashed while attempting to land on Long Island during Torpedo Squadron Eight (VT-8) carrier qualifications, 12 November 1941.
