LCT(6)-582 (1943-1944)

LCT(6)-582, a 143-ton LCT(6)-501 class landing craft, tank, built at Memphis, Tennessee, was completed in September 1943. After arrival at New Orleans, Louisiana, she was loaded on board USS LST-228 late in October. While off Tercina, Azores, on 19 January 1944, LST-228 ran aground and was wrecked. Washed off her deck by the waves, LCT(6)-582 also became a total loss. She was stricken from the list of Naval vessels in February.

This page features the only views we have concerning LCT(6)-582.
