USS McKeever Brothers, an 136-foot steam-powered minesweeper and patrol vessel, was build in 1911 at Noank, Connecticut, as a menhaden fishing boat. She was acquired by the Navy and commissioned in May 1917. During the First World War, McKeever Brothers served in the Delaware River and Delaware Bay, based at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Unneeded by the Navy following the end of the conflict, she was sold in July 1919.
