USS Ocoee (SP-1208), 1917-1919.
Originally the civilian motor boat Ocoee.

Ocoee, a 67½-foot pleasure craft, was built by the Matthews Boat Company of Port Clinton, Ohio, in 1911. Chartered by the Navy in August 1917, she was commissioned as USS Ocoee (SP-1208) less than a month later and was assigned duty as a patrol boat in the New York area. Though found to be unsuitable for Naval use by July 1918, she was not returned to her owner until January 1919.

This page features the only views we have concerning the motor boat Ocoee and USS Ocoee (SP-1208).
