USS PCS-1424, 1943-1946

USS PCS-1424, a 136-foot submarine chaser built at Manitowoc, Wisconsin, was commissioned in December 1943. She served in the Atlantic coast area for the remainder of World War II and into the first year of the post-war era. Decommissioned in April 1946, PCS-1424 was stricken from the Navy list the next month and sold via the U.S. Maritime Commission in November 1946.
