USS Wacondah, a 190 gross ton patrol yacht, was built in 1901 at Morris Heights, New York, as the civilian "express" yacht Revolution. Renamed Wacondah by a new owner in 1907, she was acquired by the Navy in May 1917. Though evaluated as "Apparently built for speed, and not for sea going qualities", she was converted to a warship and placed in commission in mid-September 1917. Wacondah operated out of New York harbor for the remainder of World War I, and for some months after the fighting ended. She was stricken from the Navy list in August 1919 and sold in June 1920. Following sale, she was renamed Intercolonial.
This page features all the views we have related to USS Wacondah (SP-238) and to the civilian yacht Revolution of 1901, which was later renamed Wacondah and Intercolonial.
