Re: [compost_tea] Vegetable quality

Put me down as extremely interested in this also.

I know that BRIX is an indication of overall quality, but I do not
know that it has much to say about what vitamins are available. (I
just don't know.)

Free Amino acids has been listed by Alan Kapuler as another
indication of food value. (Free amino acids are apparently the
precursers to proteins and our bodies are still wise enough to use
free amino acids to make the proteins are bodies need. Of course,
most hybrids are apparently very low on free amino acids)

I'm also interested in knowing what a strategy would be for
establishing the quality of the food one grows with CT.

Who does this sort of testing? What tests would one order? How can
one make it affordable?

I personally feel that the future of small scale organic farming will
be to emphatically establish that we can provide a substantially more
nutritious product than the agri-business boys, organic or not.
