My family & I went to Nags Head [NC] for the Labor Day Weekend.
This is a summary of storm-related birds seen:
Saturday, 9/4/99, 8-10AM
Washington-Baum Bridge (Between Outer Banks & Manteo) -
>From base of the east end of the bridge - 3 Wilson's Storm-Petrels
Bridge from Manteo to mainland -
>From east end of the bridge - 1 Wilson's Storm-Petrel
Nags Head - MP 11 - from shore - 1 Cory's Shearwater
Sunday, 9/5/99, 7-9AM
Washington-Baum Bridge (Between Outer Banks & Manteo) -
>From base of the east end of the bridge - 5 Wilson's Storm-Petrels
Nags Head - MP 11 - 1 Cory's Shearwater washed up on the beach
Monday, 9/6/99, 7-9AM
Nags Head - MP 11 - no pelagics but a steady stream of terns moving south
incl:
Royal, Caspian, Least, Gull-billed, Black, Common, & Sandwich
Did not check for shorebirds. Should have!
