Hey, me too. :) Granted, it becomes hard, back-aching work when
I've let it slide and there's large areas to weed, but even then
I get a lot of satisfaction out of it. In small doses, I find it
kind of meditative (similar to your "therapeutic"), and I do truly enjoy
it. I nearly always do it after a rain, or I water first - struggling
with tenacious roots in dry soil is not fun. I don't think my borders
ever get to "tidy", but the big pile of uprooted weeds is very satisfying.
You learn a lot about the characteristics of the weeds that way, too
- or at least, their root systems.
