Respected Sri Nagaraj,
Sri vaishnavas don't worship to Ganesha. On the other hand many
Iyengars who don't follow Sri Ramanuja to the core, do worship to
Ganesha but they are not Sri vaishnavas. I am not highly educated in
this subject, but from what I have learnt in my readings and elders
is following.
We as Sri Vaishnavas follow Sriman Narayana. Vishwaksena is the
senapathi of Sriman Narayana, where as Ganesha is the senapathi of
Shiva. Therefore all our prayers start with praying to Sri
Vishwaksena. This does not mean as Sri Vaishnavas we don't have
respect for Ganesha, but we are not sure if he is a bhakta of Sriman
Narayana or not therefore we are not sure if your devotion should be
to him. This is the highlevel reason, I know.
Sri Velakudi Swami, or Varadhan mama (Mukundan's father) can
shed light in more detail what our Shastras, Vedam and prabandam
state. I request either of these qualified scholars to share the
reasoning in detail.

Sincerely,
Ramanuja Daasi
Manjula
