Dear Srima Lakshmi Narasimhan,

Thank you for the posting. I think this is where there is a subtle 
difference between the approach of Agamas and divya prabandham. 
According to Agamas, we have to consecrate Him (though He is already 
there) and His powers and blessings are invoked by our efforts. On 
the other hand, according to "nenjinAl ninnaippAn..." siddhAntam of 
AzhwArs, evrything is out of His sankalpa and He is there wherever we 
think of Him to be. This does not mean we worship Him everywhere but 
only His icons at home and temple, for expressing our SEshatvam.

Agamas are very useful tools in serving His devotees in temples 
(bhAgavata kainkaryam) in a disciplined and systematized way.
