Swamin,
Adiyen would like to clarify a basic principle here.
Wearing a (PUNAL) is no where related to SriVaishnavisam.
This is the clear case of getting confused between brahminisam and
Vaishnavisam.
People who take birth in a brahmin family need to undergo upanayana
samskaram and have to wear the PUNUL after this.
They then get the right to learn and propagate Vedas. But being a
brahmin is not a requirement to be a Vaishnavaite.
There are so many Brahmins who do not belong to Vaishnavisam.
People who may be born in any caste, creed or religion but follow
Sriman Narayana/Sri Mahalakshmi and other Alwars and Acharyas by "HEART",
not alone by lips are SriVaishnavites.
After adoring to vaishnavisam, they dont even look at the other demi
gods or other gods.

But this is not the case with a brahmin, he adorns to any god that
is extolled in the vedas.Eventhough Vedas explain the ultimate Brahmam as
Lord Sriman Narayana, still in the course of its path it expains about so
many demi gods and other gods. Brahmins accept all these gods.

The underlying principle is, Brahmins are born not made but
Vaishnavaites are made not born as Vaishnavaites.

In Alwars, Nammalwar, Thiruppanalwar, Thirugamgai Alwar and
Kulasekaralwar are not Brahmins. In acharyas Thirukkachi nambigal, Maraneri
Nambigal, Pillai urangavildasar are all well known Non-Brahmin
Srivaishavaites who do not Adorn any "THREAD" accross their sholders.

Adiyen hopes you are clear that wearing a Thread no way is related
to Sri vaishnavisam.

Adiyen Ramanuja Dasan,
Varadaraja Dasan
