Sri:

Dear Members of the group, adiyen has the following
question on learning indian classical music:
when we learn music from a guru, the guru might not
be a srivaishnava, especially when we stay far away
from our country, so, the teacher, in most cases
starts with a Vinayaka song, and also teaches a lot of
songs praising other deities like durga, muruga etc.
What should be a vaishnava's approach when this
happens?
Should we only look for a Srivaishnava guru to learn
music? Or should we request the teacher to teach us
songs on our bhagawan?

Request the learned members of the group to guide us
in this.

Regards,
Adiyen.
