Dear Ms.Vidhyalakshmi yr mail of 5th. It is a very pertinent question in the modern times. Adiyen will try to give U , the clarification based on , the information collected. Yes. As a Srivaishnavite , we are supposed to worship Sreeman Narayanan only and none else. He is the Purushothaman. However , as U say , there could be many instances , when we would be put to situations as mentined by U. In such driven circumstances , there is nothing wrong in going by guru's way, since even with in those demigods , Sreeman Narayanan stays as Antharyami and all our prayers reach HIm ultimately. If U look into Bhagavad Gita , in Chapter 7, slokas 21 and 22 , Lord Krishna clarifies this position. The only fact to be kept in mind is that , what ever prayers we are forced to do to the demigods , due to circumstances beyond our control, we should constantly chant within ourselves that those prayers are ultimately addressed to Lord Sreeman Narayanan. As a Srivaishnavan , it should not be our endeavour to hurt any one's feelings , by telling that , we do not have faith in demigods . However , if your guru has an open mind , probably you could discuss this issue , separately with him and express your feelings, without hurting his. Being a music teacher , he might appreciate your strong conviction and faith on Lord Sreeman Narayanan. There is nothing like OUR Bhagwan and others' Bhagwan. For all creations , Lord Sreeman Narayanan is the ONLY Bhagwan. Trust the matter is clarified now. Adiyen Ramanuja dasan- G.
