SrI: Dear SwAmin, I heard the following explanation in a discourse for Swami Desikan's composition of Achutha Sathakam in Prakrutham: Swami Desikan was so devoted to Lord Devanathan that he considered himself to be a nAyaki (vEnkatanAyaki) in love with the Lord. In those days, women were more comfortable with Prakutham than Sanskrit. As Swami Desikan had become a nAyaki, to be consistent with this thought, he could have composed Achutha Sathakam in Prakrutham. dAsan, Venkatesh. -- On Tue, 7 Sep 2004, Rajagopalan Narayan wrote: > > Respected Swamins, > in a recent message one of sri.desikas compositions was spelt as AchuyyA > Sayakam.
