at their computers to share thoughts about him. Someway, somehow he would
have gotten this into his novels in typically hilarious form.
I've done a lot of work on Percy the last few years- just completed an
undergraduate thesis on his adopted father, William Alexander Percy, and how
the guardian appears in the novelist's works.
I hope more people write in here; Walker Percy is not afforded his right
place in the pantheon of American writers. His perceptions about the
predicament of modern man are not in vogue, and thus, he gets slighted,
particularly on college campuses. My best wishes to all those who devour
Percy and come back again and again.
