God Hid His Face
Selected Poems of RAJZEL ZYCHLINSKY

In the Dark House

You will turn your head,
as I did,
in the big,
in the dark house.
You will look for someone
who was never here.
You will wait for something
that will never happen.
The white doors,
the long corridors,
they will lead you
through high-ceilinged halls,
lead you to the corner
where I stood,
will always stand –
silent, lost.
