In My Dreams I Once Walked Here
(Dedicated to Melekh Ravitsh)
In my dreams I once
walked here.
The road curved
down to the river.
The tall fir trees, they recognized me,
and with their shadows they wiped away
the dust from my steps.
The water rushes,
runs,
through veins
of leaves,
stones,
drives my blood
to bright, broad oceans.
And here is the big, warm stone.
We embrace
like old, good friends
after long years of separation.
